Eucharistic Adoration - Praise and thank the Lord for His countless gifts and blessings! Where? In His Real Presence in your Adoration Chapel or church. How? By being really present to Him, as He is really present to us. It is a great blessing to us that we may visit with Him in our Eucharistic Adoration chapel. Too busy to visit Jesus during daytime hours? For His greater glory and your convenience, the Adoration chapel is open 24 hours a day. To sign up for a Holy Hour or for more information contact Joan at 636-391-9747. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins after 8:30am Mass on Wednesdays in the chapel until 5:00pm when the Blessed Sacrament is moved to the altar in church. At 7:30pm there is a Holy Hour which concludes with Benediction. At 8:30pm the Blessed Sacrament is moved back to the chapel with exposition continuing until 6:15am on Thursday morning.
Parking at School Dismissal In order to assure the safety of our school children, it is expected that everyone will obey the parking lot signs and student and teacher crossing guards. No exception (not even for me).
I appreciate everyone who has started using their Gold envelopes to help us pay down our debt. While debt is not something that people like to talk about, I know it is something that we as responsible adults must address if we desire to continue to be a vibrant parish. In an effort not to dwell on our debt, I will strive to remind us all of our financial responsibility only at the beginning of each month.
Father Mathew has two new videos posted. They are of him talking about the Mass for Catholic Radio. Click on this link to go to the "Clergy and Parish Staff Page" and scroll down to Fr. Mathew's Video Section
St. Joseph parishoners have formed many small groups for sharing our faith. Many have sprung up after an ACTS retreat, but you need not have made a retreat to join.
Fred Domke, founder of Bridge Bread, is coming to Sacred Heart Church, Valley Park Matthew 25: 35-36 “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me…” Please join us on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Church at 17 Ann Avenue, Valley Park, MO 63088 Fred will be discussing the origins and mission of this important enterprise, as well as the stories of those it benefits and blesses. Souls and Goals In 2013, the first-ever Souls and Goals Soccer Cup was played at St. Dominic High School. The match is held every year during the National Vocation Awareness Week—a weeklong celebration designated by the USCCB dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education. The game, featuring Archdiocesan priests (and friends) vs. seminarians, is free and open to the faithful. The 2017 cup will be on Nov. 9 at CBC High School. Concessions will be available. Please arrive by 6:30pm for the start of the program; kickoff is at 7:00pm. More information: http://www.soulsandgoals.org.
Now that most of our meetings are taken place in the school, our evening staff person can be found in the school office. They can help you with getting keys to one of the parish houses or leave notes for the parish staff.
