Back in February, the Knights sponsored a Trivia Night that was attended by many parishioners. Some of the proceeds from that event are now going into improvements at the Notre Dame house to help support Room at the Inn. Tom Landzaat, Dick Glatz, Jim Scheussler and Tom Will came together in July to begin work by painting the ceilings. When completed all the rooms will get some updates along with the plumbing in all batchrooms.

For many years, the Knights of Columbus help cook and serve at the annual St. Joseph Fish Fries. Every week during lent, Knights come together to help make the parish fish fries a great success, serving drinks and cooking fish, shrimp, and french fries up at the garage.
On Thursday, March 28th Ladies and Knights joined together in support of 40 Days for Life. The job was to just be present and pray for all those inside and outside the Planned Parenthood facility.
The Knights have coordinated an 'Adopt-a-Grotto' program for 2 years now at the LaSalle Retreat Center. The Brothers built many grottos when the facility was thriving as a school for Brother teachers, and today it takes a good deal of work ensuring nature doesn't take those grottos back. Here are a couple of pictures of the Lourdes Grotto when the program was started.
On Wedensday, March 27th, the Knights and friends finished spring cleaning of the grotto and put down mulch to ensure the grotto can be enjoyed by all in 2019.
What a beautiful transformation!
In addition to taking care of weeds and mulching, the 'Adopt-a-Grotto' team has:
Ed Cox and Brian Carroll present awards at the St. Joseph's All School Mass for the Basketball Challenge held in January and the State Essay Contest, held in February of this year.
Winners of this year's Basketball Free Throw Challenge. All winners were eligible to continue on at the district level, held here at St. Joe's on February 3rd.
Winners of the State Essay Contest. The winner's essay will go forward to compete at the state level.
Congratulations to all our students participating in all our events this year:
When people ask me why I became a Knight, my answer is always around our events that generate money for our local charities and the fact that we give away 100% of what we collect. There are obviously other reasons and I had to share this reason / video with you......
Thank you for watching....
