I want to thank Greg Barker and members of our Brazilian Community for providing a summer concert in Portuguese. I can’t imagine living anywhere but St. Louis much less living in another country, and it was wonderful to see our Brazilian brothers and sisters experiencing the joy of music in their own language, reminding them of their home, and hopefully making them feel welcome and part of St. Joseph Parish. I stayed for a little while and it was great to see our entire community enjoying the music in Portuguese at this fantastic intercultural celebration. - Fr. Thomas Pastorius
All are invited to pray in a special way for the Archdiocesan Strategic Planning Process, All Things New, on Friday August 19th. On this day, the archdiocese will be hosting a meeting of priests to discuss the possible next steps in this planning process. From the very beginning, Archbishop Rozanski has asked us to pray for God’s guidance in the unfolding of this strategic plan so please take a moment that day to pray for all those in leadership positions and that this may be a true time of renewal for our archdiocese. St. Joseph Parish in Manchester will be offering Eucharistic Adoration from 9am to 3:30pm on August 19th with Benediction at 3:30pm and all are welcome. In addition, please consider making Friday, August 19th a day of fasting.
A word of gratitude to our Knights of Columbus for answering the call to be “Good News for Others” by organizing the distribution of our parish directories this year.
