St. Joseph Parish is pleased to present an ACTS weekend retreat. This parish-based retreat offers the opportunity to renew your spirituality and prayer life, to strengthen your faith and its application in your daily life, and to build lasting friendships. It is presented by your fellow parishioners with spiritual direction from our parish priests, and has been calling people to conversion and energizing our parish since its beginnings here in 2002. Utilizing prayer, service, and teaching, the ACTS Retreat meets people where they are in their spiritual journey and invites them to experience God in a manner that is both personal and communal.
Who should attend?
Everyone. Young, old; faithful Catholic, lapsed Catholic; sinner, saint. New to the parish, long-time parishioner. Not a parishoner. Not Catholic. Cradle Catholic, convert; front pew at mass, standing in back. Social, quiet. Everyone. All that is required is a heart open to the Holy Spirit. Those who attend an ACTS retreat share in an experience that has impacted more than one million lives worldwide since the first retreat in 1987, across 26 states and 5 countries, and witness to becoming better fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and children.
Where is it?
The LaSalle Retreat Center near Wildwood, MO. Located on 180 acres of beautiful, wooded grounds on Highway 109 near Interstate 44, LaSalle was originally built as a seminary for the Christian Brothers in 1886 and became a retreat center in the 1980s. LaSalle is a warm and welcoming place. It is truly "holy ground" where one can come to be close to God and experience a peace that they can take with them in their hearts. View some of the grounds and grottos here. Or have a look at a short video produced by LaSalle here.
How long is the retreat?
The retreat begins with a short send-off ceremony in the church at St. Joseph on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, after which those attending the retreat will be transported to LaSalle. The retreat ends back in church at St. Joseph with the 11:00 mass on Sunday morning. With just two full days plus the extra evening and morning, you will wonder why you didn’t do this for yourself long ago.
What is the cost of the retreat?
The cost of the weekend including 3 nights lodging, meals and transportation is $255. A $75 deposit is required when you register. The remainder is payable at the start of the Retreat on Thursday evening. PLEASE NOTE: Financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending this retreat. If you wish to inquire about a scholarship or need more information, please contact Fr. Tom Pastorius, Pastor, or the retreat director.
