The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Dennis “Denny” Linhares on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 10:00 am. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Fr. Michael Murphy is the celebrant. Interment of the cremated remains is to be determined. Schrader Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
A Memorial Mass for the repose of the soul of Jack Leyes will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 am. Fr. Santen will be the celebrant.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Robert Ross Watson on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 am. There is no scheduled visitation. Fr. Thomas Pastorius is the celebrant. Interment of the cremated remains is at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Dear Friends,
The past year has been a difficult one for many in our community. Here at St. Joseph Parish, we have experienced our own losses as well.
In the midst of our sadness, we see glimmers of hope. Nationwide, more than 30% of American Catholics say that their faith has been strengthened by the pandemic.
Pope Francis has dedicated a “Year of St. Joseph” which has a special meaning for our community. In the dedication of this special year, Pope Francis writes about St. Joseph’s “creative courage.” He tells us that it can be found “especially in the way we deal with difficulties...we can either give up and walk away, or somehow engage with it. At times, difficulties bring out resources we did not even think we had.” (With a Father’s Heart, Pope Francis)
This past Lenten Season, I invited you to join us in a journey celebrating our parish’s #creativecourage where we highlighted stories of your fellow parishioners. In this Easter season I invite you to continue to share your stories and celebrate our #creativecourage as a community.

April 7This coming Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday which means the entire Catholic Church will celebrate this beautiful and profound mystery of God’s mercy for us. The teaching of the Divine Mercy was an important one for St. Pope John Paul II and has often been cited by Pope Francis. February 23At Pentecost, we celebrate the birth of the Church. That beginning happened when the Holy Spirit came as tongues of fire and rested on the heads of the disciples and they were motivated to spread the good news of the gospel to the whole world. Awesome. (I know, I said Pentecost...and we just started the season of Lent, right? Trust me, this is a perfect way to begin Lent.) Yet many of us don’t know much about the Holy Spirit and what the Church teaches about the third person of the Trinity. The series I review today is a crash course in the Holy Spirit from the perspective of the modern Catholic’s experience of the Holy Spirit. Why is it called “The Wild Goose”?
